This custom-designed helical staircase was developed to connect the main fitness area with a dedicated spinning room, with meticulous attention to detail in order to meet both client requirements and user expectations.
During the design phase, we carefully assessed the needs of the client and end users, analyzing the specific challenges associated with installing a staircase inside a gym environment—particularly the frequent use of footwear equipped with metal inserts. This evaluation led to the development of a specially engineered steel tread incorporating a dedicated surface treatment designed to enhance resistance to wear and scratching.
Given the stair’s significant diameter, a properly engineered structural support system was required. This support was carefully integrated into the architectural context and conceived not only for structural performance but also for strong visual impact.

In full compliance with current regulations governing stair installations and accessibility in public-use buildings, an intermediate landing was incorporated at mid-height to ensure safe and comfortable use.
Considering the presence of exposed steel trusses and next-generation fitness equipment, steel was selected as the primary material to ensure full aesthetic coherence with the surrounding environment, achieving a balanced synthesis of functionality and innovation.
